That belief carried him through 28 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, where he completed two overseas deployments, honed his skills in problem-solving, crisis management, and strategic leadership, and developed the resilience needed to serve Detroit’s 3rd District effectively.

Since being elected to the Detroit City Council in 2013, Scott has been laser-focused on bringing real change to the city he calls home. His leadership has helped:
